Equifax fined £11mn by watchdog for cyber breach

Equifax has been fined £11mn ($13.5mn) by the UK financial watchdog for its role in “one of the largest cybersecurity breaches in history”.

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) fined the credit reporting company just over £11mn for failing to manage and monitor the security of UK consumer data it outsourced to its parent company in the US, Equifax Inc.
