COP27: G7 and V20 launch global cat scheme to support vulnerable countries

The Vulnerable 20 (V20) Group of Finance Ministers, which represents 58 economies more prone to a volatile climate, has launched the Global Shield against Climate Risks – a scheme that will disburse financial support for certain countries during catastrophes.

At the household and business level, this will incorporate the provision of livelihood protection, social protection systems, livestock and crop insurance, property insurance, BI insurance, risk-sharing networks and credit guarantees.
