Gallagher Re has appointed Richard Sammons as head of its UK aerospace business, effective from January.

Sammons was previously head of specialty for Hamilton Re in Bermuda, where he worked for the past decade.

Before joining Hamilton Re, Sammons spent more than 10 years at QBE Re in various senior aviation underwriting roles.
