Australian storm and flood claims since the start of 2022 reach nearly A$8.2bn

Claims from several Australian flood and storm events since the beginning of 2022 have reached A$8.16bn ($5.37bn), according to the Insurance Council of Australia (ICA).

The New South Wales (NSW) and Southeast Queensland floods, which caused widespread flooding in February 2022, is the costliest catastrophe, with claims reaching A$6.10bn.
