NSW flooding loss tally reaches A$5.9bn: ICA

The combined insurance bill for La Niña east coast storms in 2021 and 2022 and flooding has reached A$5.92bn ($3.83bn), with more than 296,000 claims lodged, according to figures released by the Insurance Council of Australia (ICA).

In the last ICA update, there had been 230,000 claims totalling A$5.1bn ($3.6bn), with the number of claims split equally across Queensland and New South Wales (NSW).
