Howden has struck a deal to buy retail broker Contacto for around $35mn, in a transaction that marks the UK brokerage’s entrance into the Peruvian market.

The deal comes over a year after this publication revealed that the companies were in takeover conversations.

Headquartered in Lima, Contacto is a P&C and benefits retailer with a focus on the precious metals mining industry.
