Suramericana has sold its Salvadorean business known as Asesuisa to Central American financial group Ficohsa for $43.7mn.

The deal comes a month after this publication revealed that the Colombian insurer’s sale of its Salvadorean operation had drawn the interest of regional carriers Ficohsa and ASSA.
