It didn’t take long after the Validus-RenRe deal for the next possible reinsurance consolidation target to emerge.

Reuters reported this week that Axa is looking to divest its property reinsurance business, although it was unclear if all of the reinsurance business could be in scope, either through a private sale or IPO.
