Suncorp has reported additional costs of A$250mn ($167mn), or 12%, for renewing its vast reinsurance programme for the 2024 fiscal year.

The Australian carrier also increased retentions on various elements of its main coverage and chose not to renew its aggregate excess-of-loss (XoL) protection as it faced difficult market conditions.
