The Bank of England (BoE) has launched an exercise through which it aims to better understand the behaviour of banks and other financial institutions in stressed market conditions.

The bank’s first system-wide exploratory scenario (SWES) will explore how the behaviours of banks, insurers, central counterparties and various types of funds could interact to amplify UK financial shocks.
