Tower reinstates cat cover following cyclone and flood losses

New Zealand insurer Tower has placed an additional cat reinsurance protection providing coverage for the rest of its fiscal year to 30 September.

The extra coverage provides protection for a third potential cat event up to a loss of NZ$889mn ($541mn), after it suffered losses from flooding in Auckland and Cyclone Gabrielle earlier this year.
