BOC Aviation awarded $406mn in ruling against Russian airline

Aircraft lessor BOC Aviation has been awarded more than $400mn in a ruling against Russian cargo airline AirBridgeCargo, a subsidiary of Volga-Dnepr, one of Russia’s largest airlines.

US District Judge Lewis Liman ruled that AirBridgeCargo had “effected a seizure” of three aircraft and was, therefore, liable to pay after the lessor went into default for failing to maintain required reinsurance coverage.
