London market carriers have raised major concerns about a series of landmark rulings relating to data collection and use in the US, with Mosaic’s head of cyber warning they could trigger class action lawsuits which could “make cyber coverage in effect uninsurable”.

The cyber market has been aware of rising risk related to data privacy laws for some time, but recent rulings have made some sources more concerned about the potential for higher-end loss awards than previously feared.
