European insurance M&A activity reached an all-time high in 2022 as private equity firms and strategic buyers ramped up their transactions, though deal volume in the UK may have peaked, according to a report from FTI Consulting.

FTI’s European Insurance M&A Barometer study showed there were 435 deals reported during 2022, a 15% increase on the 379 in 2021.
