FCA review finds failures and ‘poor’ disclosures among ESG ratings providers

A review by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) of the benchmarks used by ratings providers to measure ESG factors has found a “poor” quality of disclosures.

The FCA said that there were often instances where benchmark administrators (ratings providers) failed to provide sufficient detail of ESG factors considered in methodologies, and there were some cases when methodologies were not implemented correctly.
