This January will bring rate increases on European property treaties that have not been seen in decades – but some underwriters are still expressing disappointment that prices have not moved by as much as those in the US.

After several weeks of increasingly frantic negotiation, the past seven days or so have brought a flurry of firm order terms (FoTs) and with them, at last, some concrete data points on pricing.
