The UK Prudential Regulatory Authority’s (PRA’s) CEO Sam Woods has warned lawmakers about the need to retain the watchdog’s independence, as MPs debate a bill that will deliver sweeping regulatory reforms.

Woods was speaking last night at the City banquet at Mansion House, where he emphasised the need to safeguard independence for both financial regulators as Parliament scrutinises the Financial Services and Markets Bill.
