The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has set out in a new discussion paper how tech companies including Amazon, Apple and Google may expand in UK financial services through M&A and ultimately compete with existing partners in future.

As the presence of Silicon Valley firms grows in the UK financial services markets, with the potential for rapid expansion, the FCA has launched the paper to assess emerging risks and mitigate harms resulting from their market power.
