FCA: Service metric on approved person cases ‘no longer achievable’

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has said its voluntary objective to determine 85% of approved person applications in five days “is no longer achievable”, due to the extra scrutiny it applies to certain roles.

In a brief report on service standards published before its annual meeting tomorrow, the regulator provided an update on how it has been processing approved person applications, as well as authorisations, variations of permission and change in control cases.
