Economic secretary Glen resigns amid government chaos

Economic Secretary to the Treasury John Glen, who has been leading reforms of insurance regulation including Solvency II, is the latest minister to resign as Prime Minister Boris Johnson faces another leadership crisis.

At last count, 15 Cabinet and junior ministers had resigned from their roles, including chancellor Rishi Sunak and health secretary Sajid Javid.
