Cresta pegs February European windstorm losses at $4.1bn

Severe thunderstorm lowering cloud threatens tornado

Windstorms that struck Europe in mid-February have caused $4.1bn in insured losses, according to Cresta’s latest tally.

Flooding in Eastern Australia during February and March has so far caused $3.7bn in damage, Cresta said.

This comes after an estimate from the Insurance Council of Australia earlier this week pegged the flood losses at $3.3bn.
