Banco BPM set to buy out Covea from joint insurance venture

Italian lender Banco BPM is to exercise its option to buy out Covea’s share of the pair’s joint venture insurance company Bipiemme Vita.

In a statement, Banco BPM said it was poised to buy Covea’s 81% stake in life insurer Bipiemme Vita, which in turn owns the entire share capital of non-life carrier Bipiemme Assicurazioni.
