Inflation uncertainty creates ‘bifurcated market’: MAP’s Trubshaw

Differing assessments of the impact of inflation on categories of risk are creating a “bifurcated market” in which “vast swathes” of policies are poorly priced, according Managing Agency Partners (MAP) Syndicate 2791 co-founder Richard Trubshaw.

The active underwriter made his comments in the syndicate’s 2021 accounts, in which the carrier reported a combined ratio of 93%, a 1-point improvement on the prior year.
