Allianz has increased the limit on its aggregate reinsurance layer by EUR200mn ($227mn) and budgeted for a larger nat cat load in 2022 as it looks to control volatility.

The German carrier published its 2021 full-year results on Friday, announcing group profit of EUR13.4bn, a 25% year-on-year increase.
