Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) swung back into profit in 2021, posting returns of EUR366mn ($416mn) after a loss of EUR482m in 2020. It also reported a 97.5% combined ratio, an 18-point year-on-year improvement.

At a group level, profits at the German carrier increased by 25% to a record high of EUR13.4bn.
