Late October storms reach first layer of IAG’s reinsurance treaty

IAG said net cat losses from late October hailstorms would reach the A$169mn ($127mn) trigger for its occurrence reinsurance programme, as it revised up projected cat losses for the year.

The insurer also said catastrophe losses have reached 77% of the way to triggering its aggregate reinsurance cover for its fiscal year 2022, which runs until 30 June 2022.
