UK to enshrine climate disclosure rules into law by April 2022

New legislation will require firms including insurers and brokers to disclose climate-related financial information from April next year, as the UK becomes the first G20 state to embed the reporting rules into law.

Britain’s largest businesses will have to disclose their climate-related risks and opportunities, in line with recommendations from the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), an international group comprising 32 individuals drawn from across the G20.
