Fitch raises reinsurance outlook from 'stable’ as conditions improve

Ratings agency Fitch has upgraded its outlook for the reinsurance sector to “improving” from “stable” and predicted that price rises could lead to reinsurers shaving two to three points off their combined ratios in 2021.

Fitch said that its change of outlook reflected “significant improvement” in the sector’s financial performance thanks to the hardening market and a rebound in economic activity, as well as lower pandemic-related losses.
