Provinzial books worst-ever loss from Bernd as Deutsche Rück predicts EUR180mn retro claim

German personal lines carrier Provinzial has announced its loss from the Bernd flooding will be its most expensive ever at EUR761.3mn ($896.5mn), while Deutsche Rück will take a loss of EUR180mn-EUR230mn.

Information from German cedants is still in short supply following the devastating floods in mid-July, but there are a handful of notifications in the market, with Allianz announcing a EUR900mn loss today.
