FCA halves minimum capital raise limit for SPACs to £100mn

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has halved the minimum that must be raised at initial listing through a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) to £100mn ($138mn) as it seeks to create an easier route for firms to go public via an acquisition vehicle.

The regulator has also introduced an option to extend the proposed two-year time-limited operating period, by six months, without the need of shareholder approval.
