Flooding in Continental Europe has now claimed at least 188 lives, with heavy rain set to continue to wreak havoc in Austria and southern Germany.

Last week, record levels of rainfall caused flooding in the German states of North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate, as well as regions of Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Switzerland.
