Japanese carrier MS&AD Insurance Group Holdings has become the latest insurer to limit its coal underwriting appetite, saying it will no longer insure new coal-fired power plants.

The carrier, which is the parent company of MS Amlin, made the announcement as it set out in detail its ESG agenda, after having pledged earlier this year that it aimed to become a net-zero company by 2050.
