Keese: Central fund reinsurance is an ‘offense and defense’ play

The Lloyd’s central fund reinsurance deal announced this morning is both an offensive and defensive play for the Corporation, allowing growth while protecting syndicates from additional levies and fees, according to its CFO.

In a press conference to discuss the five-year £650mn ($760mn) cover, Burkhard Keese said the reinsurance protection will allow for the financing of growth at a cost roughly three times cheaper than adding more capital to the central fund.
