Mumbai Airport closes as cyclone Tauktae nears Indian west coast

Super cyclonic storm Tauktae is heading for the west coast of India, with the probability of making landfall at Category 1 strength at 65% according to Tropical Storm Risk (TSR).

The storm approaching the western states of Gujarat and Maharashtra is forecast to be the worst to hit the region since 1998 and will exacerbate India’s ongoing Covid-19 crisis.
