MENA Reinsurance Barometer

Data London

We are pleased to present the first edition of the annual MENA Reinsurance Barometer. It builds on the well-established GCC Reinsurance Barometer launched in March 2011, but now includes the wider Middle East North Africa (MENA) region, including Turkey.

This extended geographical scope takes into account the ever-closer economic, social and political ties across the region.

The MENA Reinsurance Barometer is based on in-depth interviews with senior executives of 38 regional and international reinsurance companies and intermediaries operating in the MENA region. It provides a unique overview of the current state and near-term prospects of the MENA reinsurance market, which generates an estimated US$ 12 billion in total premiums. The report also offers a summary of key regional (re)insurance market data.

Over time, the barometer will help improve the transparency of the MENA (re)insurance market and

provide participants with an additional benchmark for decision-making. It paints a comprehensive and quantitative picture of current market sentiment and will track this over time.

We hope you will enjoy reading this report and benefit from the findings of our first MENA Reinsurance Barometer.
