XL seals $4.2bn Catlin takeover

Global insurer XL Group has struck a deal to acquire Catlin for £2.79bn ($4.20bn) in a cash-and-shares deal three weeks after news of their talks leaked out, the London-listed carrier said this morning (9 January).
