KCC pegs Japan earthquake insured losses at $6.4bn

Insured losses stemming from the earthquake on New Year’s Day in western Japan are expected to amount to $6.4bn, according to Karen Clark & Company.

The modelling firm said that residential losses would account for around two thirds of the total claim.
