The Kahramanmaras earthquake sequence in Turkey last February was the largest non-US industry loss event in 2023 at $5.8bn, Cresta’s Industry Loss Index (Clix) Q4 update said.

Cresta increased its industry loss estimate for the event by around 20% from July, when it had estimated $5bn of industry loss.
