UK insurance brokers will not have to establish an office in Switzerland to serve Swiss clients from January under a deal struck by Chancellor Jeremy Hunt today.

From the start of 2024, Switzerland will require non-Swiss firms to establish a domestic base before serving Swiss clients, but the UK government has secured a unique exemption from the new rules.
