Perils has pegged its initial industry loss estimate for the floods and storm in the British Isles and northwestern Europe in October at EUR509mn ($553mn), with most of the industry losses – £329mn ($417mn) – occurring in the UK.

The systems were named Storm Babet by the UK Met Office and Storm Aline by the Spanish state meteorological agency.
