IGI’s Q3 CoR declines 0.8 points to 73.2% on lower cat losses

International General Insurance’s (IGI) Q3 combined ratio decreased 0.8 points to 73.2% as the (re)insurer booked $4.8mn of catastrophe losses, down from $6.7mn a year ago.

IGI reported $1.1mn of Q3 cat losses from the earthquake in Turkey, which impacted its reinsurance book. In addition, the carrier’s short-tail portfolio was affected by adverse weather conditions in Oman.
