She will be based in London and work within the retrocession and property specialty division, as well as supporting the London market and global production activity.
Willmont’s 20-year career in the London market includes work at Benfield and Aon Benfield, before moving into underwriting in 2014 at Canopius.
When she left the insurer last year, she was CEO of Canopius UK, having formerly held the role of active underwriter.
Lockton Re’s Robert Bisset, chairman of retrocession and property specialty, Bermuda, and capital markets, said Willmont shared the firm’s collaborative ethos.
