The ships managing to escape the Black Sea in recent weeks will offer some reprieve to the overall claims toll faced by marine war underwriters from the conflict in Ukraine, sources told this publication.

In the past month several ships which were stranded in Ukrainian ports since February 2022, when Russia launched its invasion of the country, have managed to navigate successfully the treacherous voyage out of the Black Sea to safe waters.
