Starr takes AIG’s Magee for financial lines leadership role

Starr Insurance has named Christopher Magee as VP, international head of financial lines and professional liability, a newly-created position focused on growing the business outside the US.

Prior to his appointment at Starr, Magee was head of commercial D&O at AIG, based in London. He brings more than 25 years’ financial lines management experience at large US global insurance firms in the US, Canada, UK and Switzerland. Magee has relocated to New York from London.

Starr has also appointed Sean Chen as CEO of Starr International Insurance Singapore. Chen succeeds Phil Finley who has moved to Thailand as CEO of Starr International Insurance Thailand. Finley will continue to lead Starr’s Asia operations as president for the APAC region.

Previously, Chen was Starr’s regional manager for Korea, Taiwan and Japan for property, energy and construction. He previously served as a senior property underwriter in Starr’s Hong Kong office.
