Moody’s RMS cuts pre-landfall Idalia mean loss estimate by $2.2bn

Moody’s RMS has cut its pre-landfall mean loss estimate for Hurricane Idalia by around $2.2bn to $7.2bn as of yesterday, according to sources.

The modeller had earlier this week put out modelled loss scenarios showing a mean possible loss of $9.4bn.

The updated 29 August projections, which are for wind only, show a 20% likelihood of losses approaching $11.7bn
