Apollo and InsurTech Artificial Labs have launched a collaboration that will marry algorithmic underwriting technology with human expertise and oversight, in the latest milestone for the development of machine-learning techniques in the Lloyd's market.

The initial 12-month pilot for the 'smart follow' partnership will focus on four target lines of business including marine hull and aviation which will be underwritten by the Apollo 1969 Syndicate, augmented with the use of Artificial Labs' technology.
