PartnerRe reported a 1.6-point increase in its H1 combined ratio to 83.5%, noting that last year’s first-half underwriting results benefited from favourable prior-year reserve development.

Meanwhile, the Bermudian’s net earned premiums (NEP) rose nearly 10% to almost $3.9bn in H1 of 2023. The company said the NEP expansion reflected 6% growth in P&C, 7% in specialty lines and 21% in life and health.
