Aviva has launched a forensic expenses investigation within its global corporate and specialty (GCS) business following irregularities initially unearthed within its financial lines division that triggered the dismissal of a number of GCS staff, this publication can reveal.

In a handful of instances where potential misconduct issues were spotted, compliance personnel have cross-referenced underwriter diaries and scrutinised lunch receipts.
