Marine hull market ‘benign’ but large losses could tip balance: Gallagher

Market conditions in marine hull are expected to remain “benign” for the remainder of 2023, although any uptick in large losses could push the market back into hardening territory, according to a report from Gallagher.

The broker said that rates in the line of business were “relatively flat” and that pushes for rate increases to account for inflation and higher reinsurance costs had been “predictably low key”.
