Moody’s reveals uplift in carriers’ plans to embed ESG in underwriting

There has been an exponential rise in firms defining strategies to bring ESG factors into underwriting and communicating it to insureds since last year, and an increase in exclusions of fossil-fuel business, according to Moody’s latest ESG survey.

The survey found a 120% increase in insurers that have now defined their commitment to introduce ESG into underwriting since last year.
